Mounting Supplies 101

Mounting your print can be a quick and easy process, but finding the right product for your routine to do so can be stressful and confusing. We’ve put together this guideline to help you explore different options for mounting your print depending on the type and desired display form! From matting to your matboard to finishing up your scrapbook, keep reading for helpful tips on getting the job done! 

Supply 1: Linen Hinging Tape

This classic tape is the perfect solution for hinging your artwork or print to your mat board. We’ve showcased this product many times over the years (it’s just that good) and have a whole blog post dedicated to showing you how to use it.

Supply 2: Mounting Hinging Tissue

This hinging tissue is lightweight, self-adhesive and translucent. Perfect for artwork you’d like to mount without having to hide the product used to mount it. This tissue is durable, permanent, and requires the use of mineral spirits to remove. It is also non-yellowing! 

Supply 3: Mounting Corners

Mounting corners are great for making your print or artwork interchangeable. Simply slide the piece into the photo corner on all four sides, apply to the mat board or backing board in position, and press firmly down. The piece can then be easily slid out of the photo corner and a new one put in its place. Great for use in picture frames! Not advised for use when selling prints as the print or artwork will not be changed out.

Supply 4: Photo Mounting Sleeve

These clear, adhesive sleeves are great for both protecting and showcasing your artwork or print. Simply slide the piece into the sleeve, remove the adhesive strip, and place in your desired location. Use in albums, books, activities, and more. These sleeves also make it easy to switch out the print or artwork for another. Leave the adhesive strip on to store. 

Supply 5: Acid Free Photo Corners

These photo corners are for use in scrapbooks or anywhere you’d like to display your print or artwork in a decorative way. They function the same way as the mounting corners featured above, but are designed to be showcased with the print or artwork rather than remain hidden like the clear ones offered.
