Core color can be a fun way to switch up the look of the artwork or print you are displaying or selling. With two options to choose from, we make it easy to experiment with different looks and choose the right core color for your piece. In this post we’ll explore these two options and ways you can use them to up your matting game.

Option 1: White Core
White core mats are our most popular mats. White core is a safe way to mat your prints due to its versatility and classic look. White core mats look great with any piece and can be more cost effective in some cases. If you find yourself always reaching for a white core mat, you may want to consider our next option for a more unique look.

Option 2: Black Core
Black core mats are a unique mat with a black core and the back of the mat is also black. This mat option is also very versatile and works great with colorful pieces in adding an extra dimension. Using a black mat with a black core can ensure your piece is the star of the show.

Black core mats are only available in black and white. Despite a lack of color options, the versatility of these mats is limitless. Black core mats are available as pre-cuts and on our custom mat builder.
