Artist Spotlight: Michelle Ware
Michelle Ware is our Client Spotlight this week. An artist located in Northern California, Michelle works out of her home studio built by her husband in 2013 and launched her art business, https://michellewareartist.com/ a couple of years ago. She offers an extensive collection of original artwork, prints, and free coloring pages. Michelle has been creating since childhood, and started experimenting with acrylic paint in her teens.
Michelle attributes her creativity to her parents and the community she grew up in. “I have always been a creative person probably because I have very creative and skilled parents. I was fascinated with my mother’s paint and supplies as a young child, and could be found collecting and experimenting with my own art supplies from a very young age. I was also lucky enough to attend school in a community where art was not only taught but valued. By the time I was in high school and college I had been well trained in art fundamentals and was ready to pursue more advanced techniques.”
Michelle is passionate about her art and the process of creating and sharing her work with others. “I can get lost in the creative flow and am continuously inspired by color and shape. The creative process is very meditative and grounding for me. I also really enjoy sharing my paintings with others. Knowing something I created helped to brighten someone’s day is really amazing!”
She chooses subjects that she finds work well with her artistic style. “I paint a variety of subjects but seem to predominately gravitate toward flowers. They lend themselves nicely to the bold colors and whimsical expression that is most present in my work.” On her website, she offers numerous paintings of different subjects and styles, including abstract, collage, and floral. Her inspiration comes from nature and those around her. “I am inspired by nature and the energy I receive from my loved ones. Previous projects also inspire me to play with technique or specific color palettes.
The advice Michelle offers to aspiring artists: “The hardest part sometimes is just getting started and overcoming the intimidation of the blank canvas. I suggest starting with color. Pick the colors that are speaking to you in the moment and just start laying them on the canvas.
Michelle found Golden State Art for her packaging and art supplies when she was looking for quality products and excellent service, and that is what she gets with GSA. “I was happy to purchase from a fellow NorCal business. After spending so much time on a piece of art it’s nice to finish with beautiful framing supplies that will enhance it.”
