Located in Northern California, Lake Tahoe is one of the many wonders the state has to offer. With snow capped mountains and crystal blue waters, the lake is visited by millions of people from all over the world every year wanting to take in the beautiful views. With our matboard in tow, we took a visit to Lake Tahoe this month to see it for ourselves and show off yet another beautiful location you can visit to photograph and enjoy. There are a plethora of mat-able (Is that a word? We think it's a word!) locations in the area.

First, we visited Lakeside Beach, a sandy area right by the Nevada border with a children’s park, picnic benches, and a small area for weddings. The beach is surrounded by sweeping views of the lake’s bordering snow-capped mountains, and the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the area.

Next, we ventured along the Lake Tahoe Scenic Drive. This drive loops all the way around the lake and takes about two hours to get all the way around. While we didn't drive the whole way, we did stop at some beautiful areas along the way. Parts of the road wrap through the mountains, providing beautiful ariel views of the lake and surrounding area.

This public beach, located in Tahoe City, featured a rock beach and kayak rentals. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture the tall trees and more sweeping views of the mountains in the distance.
